4 Tips For Successfully Marketing Your Business on Twitter

twitter marketing

So you just launched a new company and you’re now looking to the streets of social media marketing for marketing your business. No? Well, you should probably get on that. Social media is ever-growing and what better way to market than to be connected with all of your potential fans? When people think of social media they may instantly think of two huge websites – Facebook and Twitter. While Facebook is great for marketing your business, Twitter can be just as helpful, if not more helpful. It’s actually really easy to market on Twitter and with these tips, you too can do it!

Focus on your Bio twitter bio

It might not seem like an easy task to completely mess up your bio, but it actually can be. Since your bio is the first thing people see when they browse your Twitter profile, it s extremely vital that it is well-thought out. According to CIO, “…your company identity and voice should be branded well.” What this simple yet powerful statement means is that people should get a sense of just who you are within your bio. It would also be a really good idea to include a link to your company website within your bio.

Tweet Regularly tweeting

If the people that follow you on Twitter are like anyone else on Twitter, they will unfollow if your account shows no recent activity. It’s very important to keep up with your company Twitter account to maintain followers, but also gain new ones. See what’s trending on Twitter and voice your opinion (where it is relevant) and share your content with the rest of Twitter (also where it is relevant). Show throughout your tweets that you as a company appreciate the followers and perhaps hold contents or some incentive for those that choose to stay up to date with your company.

Get Involved in Hashtags hashtags

Twitter is all about hashtags. Tag your posts as a company with relevant, well-thought out hashtags. You could even use hashtags that are trending in your region or worldwide. I do recommend not trying to start your own hashtags as a company (with the intent of it gaining massive popularity) until you gather much of a following. People who browse trending topics can view every tweet with the correlated hashtag and sort by the most popular, so getting in on the discussion on Twitter is the best way to get noticed.

Use Twitter Tools to Analyze twitter analytics

There are many Twitter tools available that allow you to analyze many, many things. One that is integrated within Twitter though is called Twitter Analytics. What this allows the user to do is simply analyze their Twitter profile. You can view your top tweets (by month), tweet impressions, profile visits, and even followers/top followers. All of these are extremely helpful tools for any business. Are you losing followers? Are you getting less retweets? That’s a sign to change it up a bit and experiment to find what your audience wants. If you’re signed in with Twitter, click here to check out an analytic page of your profile!

If you were thinking of marketing on Twitter, now is the time to do so. Over 500 million tweets are posted to Twitter daily, so surely there is a lot of potential within to market your company. This averages out to 6000 tweets per minute and 200 billion tweets per year (source). This number has grown exponentially in the past years, so get out there and market your business!

5 Amazing Twitter Tools (That You Should Probably Be Using)

twitter

Twitter was founded in 2006 and has since been growing rapidly. At first, many people, including myself, didn’t quite see the appeal of micro-blogging 140 characters to a bunch of ‘followers’. What was the purpose with already social sites like Myspace in the spotlight around that time, and even Facebook starting to gain popularity? As it goes today, Twitter is one of the most popular social networking websites ever. This is in part due to the dedicated community that collectively tweet 500 million times a day and even with the addition of many great tools that help make Twitter the social media experience many people desire.

Bit.ly

bit.ly

The first extremely helpful Twitter tool is bit.ly. What this simple (yet magnificent) website allows the user to do is shorten a URL so they can share it on Twitter. Since Twitter limits tweets to 140 characters, the user would want to preserve as many of those characters as possible so they would have room for the actual tweet and not just a really, really long URL. This tool is perfect for anyone who shares a lot of links on Twitter as they can share the link and have enough room to talk about it! Check it out here.

Tweetdeck

tweetdeck

Tweetdeck is a social media dashboard app for Twitter that can be used as a web application on many popular browsers. Tweetdeck offers a customized Twitter experience in which the user can organize and build custom timelines, activity, search results, and more – all in one interface. Timelines within this specific app would be extremely useful for any business looking to gauge how popular a hashtag is, or even what people are searching for on Twitter. With this app you can also:

  • Schedule tweets to be posted
  • Set alerts to go off
  • Mute users and terms

 Twitterfeed

twitterfeed

Twitterfeed allows the user to add RSS feeds of their tweets to be shared on other websites the user may have. Not only that, it can also be used to track feeds by the user. This tool is extremely helpful because it can get the users tweets recognized on websites other than Twitter and allows for a Twitter feed to be linked to those sites. Setup is fast and easy and will walk you through the steps of creating your own feed. Check it out here.

 Cybranding

cybranding

Cybranding is a way of analyzing hashtags on Twitter to see how popular they are. It allows to see how many daily tweets, daily impressions, total tweets, total impressions, and observed days a hashtag has at the time of it being analyzed. After that, it can be used to view the reach of hashtags and even to view the top 50 influencers of that hashtag. Why stop there? It also allows for you to view related hashtags. All in all, a really helpful tool for anyone looking to promote a hashtag and for businesses to gauge what is popular. Check it out here.

Buffer

buffer

Buffer is a Twitter application that aims to save the Twitter user time. To save the user time, it allows to schedule tweets to be posted throughout the day. By doing this, the person sending out tweets doesn’t have to post them at that exact time. So if 2:30 PM on a Friday is peak time on Twitter (most concurrent users) but the user isn’t available, he/she can schedule a tweet to be posted right then. You can also get great analytic information about tweets to see what your audience loves, or doesn’t love. Check out Buffer here.

Twitter has evolved greatly since coming onto the market in 2006. Tools can greatly enhance a user’s expereience with Twitter and can even be vital for any business looking to promote on Twitter. Are there any tools I missed but you find helpful? Comment below!
